Puffin watching tour by boat – just south of Nuuk
Step aboard a modern and comfortable boat as we set off through the beautiful Nuuk Fjord toward a small island known for its seasonal visitors, the charming puffins.
These distinctive seabirds, easily recognized by their colorful beaks, return to Greenland’s coastal islands during the summer to nest and lay their eggs. About 30 cm tall, puffins spend most of the year, nearly 7–8 months out at sea, only coming ashore to breed.
On this tour, we’ll carefully approach the island and search for puffins in their natural habitat. With a bit of luck, you’ll witness them diving, flying, or perched along the rocky cliffs.
While we do our best to spot them, puffins are wild animals, and sightings depend on a variety of natural factors, including weather, predators, and the birds’ own unpredictable behavior. For this reason, we cannot guarantee sightings, but the journey itself offers a scenic and peaceful experience in Greenland’s pristine nature.
Join us for a memorable birdwatching adventure in the Nuuk Fjord — and perhaps a close encounter with one of Greenland’s most beloved birds.
Important Note: When you are going out on an adventure, it is highly recommended to bring both camera and binoculars. It is also advisable to bring warm clothes.
